Welcome to Blanc Ceramic. By booking a class, workshop, hiring our kiln, purchasing from our store, or becoming a member, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
1. General Terms
1.1 Scope of Application
These Terms apply to all classes, workshops, courses, memberships, kiln hire, studio use, and the sale of ceramic goods and equipment offered by Blanc Ceramic.

1.2 Acceptance of Terms
By booking, attending, or using any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions, whether the engagement is made online, in person, or through a third-party platform.

1.3 Modifications
Blanc Ceramic reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. All changes will take immediate effect upon being published on our website.

1.4 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London, UK. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is expressly excluded.

1.5 Age Requirement
Participants must be at least 16 years old unless attending a session specifically designated for minors and approved by studio management.
2. Booking, Payment & Cancellations
2.1 Booking & Payments
All bookings are confirmed only upon full payment. Prices listed on the website may be updated without notice. Taxes will be calculated and displayed at checkout.
2.2 Cancellation by Client
No cancellations or reschedules are allowed for any workshops.
2.3 Lateness
Participants arriving more than 15 minutes late may be denied entry or charged an additional late attendance fee.
2.4 Cancellation by Blanc Ceramic
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any class or service for operational or safety reasons. A full refund or rescheduling will be offered. No further compensation will be provided.
2.5 Emergencies or Illness
Requests for cancellation due to medical emergencies or government-imposed restrictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documents may be required.

3. Membership Terms
3.1 Billing & Renewal
Memberships are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically unless cancelled with proper notice.
3.2 Cancellation
Written notice must be provided at least 30 days in advance of the intended termination date. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of your deposit or additional charges.
3.3 Conduct
Members must follow all studio rules and health/safety policies. Misconduct, property damage, or repeated non-compliance may result in immediate membership termination without refund.

4. Studio Use, Health & Safety
4.1 Risk Acknowledgement
Participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in ceramic work, including the use of sharp tools, hot surfaces, and exposure to silica dust. You agree that participation is at your own risk.
4.2 Supervision & Access
Use of studio tools and equipment, including kilns and wheels, is restricted to individuals who have received proper instruction. Misuse will result in revoked access without refund.

4.3 Incident Reporting
All accidents or injuries must be reported immediately. A written incident report may be required.

5. Student Work – Ownership & Collection
5.1 Ownership
Work created in classes remains the property of the student. By default, Blanc Ceramic may photograph and use your work for promotional purposes unless you opt out in writing before class begins.
5.2 Firing Risks
We are not responsible for cracking, warping, glaze imperfections, or loss of work during firing. Re-firings or compensation are not guaranteed and remain at our discretion.
5.3 Collection Window

We will notify you when your pieces are ready.

Items must be collected within 1 month of notification.

Uncollected items will be disposed of after 1 month from course completion.

Storage beyond 1 month may incur a £10/week storage fee.
6. Kiln Hire Terms
6.1 Scope of Hire
Kiln hire includes the use of the kiln only. Additional services like storage, glazing, and materials are charged separately.
6.2 Responsibilities

All work must be fully dry and made with approved clay and glaze.

Glazes must not touch kiln shelves or props.

Clients are responsible for proper labeling, loading, and unloading unless otherwise arranged.
6.3 Damages
Damage to kilns, shelves, or props due to user error (e.g., glaze runs, explosions) will be billed at full replacement cost plus a 15% administrative fee.
6.4 No Guarantee of Results
We do not guarantee firing outcomes. All kiln firings are undertaken at the client’s own risk.

7. Delivery, Shipping & Returns
7.1 Risk in Transit
All goods are dispatched using third-party carriers. Risk of damage or loss transfers to the buyer upon dispatch, and while we take care to ensure that all items are packaged securely, any damages or issues arising during transit are the responsibility of the carrier.​

7.2 Damaged Goods
By purchasing products from our website, you acknowledge the potential for issues like breakage, delivery failure, or loss during transit. We are not liable for these occurrences, and any issues should be addressed directly with the carrier (Royal Mail, for example).​

8. Intellectual Property
All content, designs, photos, branding, and instructional materials are the property of Blanc Ceramic. Unauthorized use or reproduction is strictly prohibited.

9. Privacy & Communications
Your data is processed in accordance with the UK GDPR. It will be used only for service delivery, booking management, and marketing (if opted in). You may opt out at any time by contacting blanceramics@gmail.com.

10. Lost or Stolen Items
Blanc Ceramic is not liable for personal belongings lost, stolen, or left behind in the studio.

11. Force Majeure
Blanc Ceramic shall not be held liable for cancellations or service disruptions due to events beyond our control including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or equipment failure.
