Who it’s for

Who it’s for

Anyone who wants to make ceramics without using a wheel. No prior skill needed. Great for people who prefer a slower, more sculptural pace.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN WEEK BY WEEK

Four weeks of steady progress.

Four weeks of steady progress.

Week 1

Pinch & Form — Start with the most fundamental technique in ceramics. Shape a small vessel from a single ball of clay using only your hands. Learn wall thickness, evenness, and how to read the clay by touch.

Week 2

Slab Building — Roll flat slabs and construct with them — a mug, a box, a planter. Learn to score, slip, and join cleanly. Precision without a wheel.

Week 3

Coil Building — Build height and shape with coils. Create a larger vessel — a vase or bowl — and learn to smooth or leave the coil texture as a design choice.

Week 4

Surface & Glazing — Decorate and prepare your pieces for the kiln. Learn stamping, carving, slip trailing, and glaze application. Up to 3 pieces fired.
